The year of Heifers.
I pray I don't jinx this, but so far we are 100% heifers with four of four calves so far heifers. This is unprecedented for us as up to this we have gotten one or two heifers each year and overloads of steers. But starting off with a set of twin heifers followed by two more we are excited. There are several cows due before we break for summer to our fall calving so we shall see if this streak holds up. I wonder about the reason and know the bull has a lot to do with it. These


Double Dutch, Twice as nice!
Well do I have a story to tell on myself. Just when you begin to think your something of a real weekend cowboy one of your cows goes and makes you look like a goat rancher! Ok no offense to you goat people surely you have tougher hides, i've heard the language used when one gets out again. Back to my story. I went up to check on my cows because I knew that Strawberry Patches, we call her Patches, was due. Unfortunately for some unknown reason she slipped her calf last year. S
